Possible Solution for Captives of MS Publisher
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/pubooo is an extension of OpenOffice.org that may give release to people who have a lot of material in the proprietary and un-convertible Publisher format.
When I was converting to Linux and OpenOffice.org, all my .pub files had to be recreated or replaced by hand. This solution might be far easier.
